Active winter

Walker near Llyn Llydaw, Snowdon

During the winter months, there’s nothing better than wrapping up warm and going for a walk in the Welsh countryside. Our National Parks are popular with walkers all year round and the landscape changes with the seasons.

If you are thinking of walking in the mountains though make sure you take the right precautions. The scenery is beautiful but the weather and conditions can change quickly!

Other bracing walks can be had around the coast. Did you know Wales is the only country in the world with a path right around its coast? It's great to enjoy a bit of sea air to liven you up in the winter months. It will set you up for a hearty meal in one of our pubs or restaurants. If you'd prefer to make your own, check our recipes for warming dishes such as cawl and roast lamb.
